Worth Williams, 74, went home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born July 1, 1950, the 5th child of Claud and Jannie Williams, in Tom, Oklahoma. As a young boy, he moved to El Paso, Texas where he was raised by his Uncle Worth and Aunt Armead Williams until 10th grade when he returned home to Tom, Oklahoma. Upon returning to Tom, he earned a carpenter's license through Job Corp in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
While in El Paso, Worth received Christ and was baptized at First Baptist Church where he attended Sunday School and sang in youth choir. On August 19, 1972, he married Ruthie Johnson at New Dora Baptist Church, to their union, four children were born.
In 1975, Worth joined the Army National Guard. In 1981, Worth and Ruthie relocated their family to San Diego, California where he began serving active duty in the National Guard. In San Diego, they raised their children until retirement. Shortly after retiring from the Military, the family relocated to Oak Harbor Washington where he joined and was a faithful member of Living Faith Christian Center settling into retirement they then moved to Oklahoma where he remained until the Lord called him home. Worth was a family man who enjoyed being with his family. He especially enjoyed being a grandfather to his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and watching OU Sooner football, even attending games after moving back to Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Jannie Williams, brother Willie Williams, Sister Arneatha Lewis (Nephews)Marvin Ford, David Moore & Anthony (Skitter) Williams; Brothers-in-Law: Earner Johnson, Jr., Vernell Nelson, and Donald Ray Johnson; Mother-in-Law, Lillie Mae Johnson and Father-in-Law, Earner Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his legacy and all his blessings his wife of 52 years, Ruthie Williams, daughters: Pamela Williams, Shelia Franklin (Derrick), and Luketta Williams; Sons: Patrick Johnson, Michael Williams, and Charles Crutchfield; and Granddaughter Alisha Wilson, whom they raised; 26 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren. Siblings: Larry Williams (Martha), Sandra Williams, and Merlene Williams; Sisters-in-Law: Jackie Smith, Shirley Johnson, Linda Smith, and Deborah Graves; Brother-in-Law: Reginald Wayne Merritt.
Funeral arrangements are set for 1 pm Saturday, Oct 19th, 2024 at New Dora Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Fred Burleson officiating.
Interment will follow at St Luke Cemetery.
