Willie Lee Williams

August 22, 1935 — October 1, 2021

Broken Bow

Willie Lee Williams, was the sixth child born to the union of Claude & Laura Sanders Williams in Idabel Oklahoma on August 22, 1935.  Raised in Oklahoma, Macedonia District. He was schooled in the Slater School District, and went on to complete that schooling while attending Booker T. Washington High School.
With his dad being the Head Deacon of Macedonia Baptist Church, stands to reason his love and introduction to Christ began at an early age. That love continued on through his life, and it's a love that was introduced to his children in later years. He sang in multiple quartets over the years with an amazing voice.  One of his favorite songs known to many was, "Sweet Home". It was requested he sing it often by many.  He was also a dedicated member of the Masons for many, many years.  It was a membership he cherished with everything in him.
Upon going to California, he met Fannie Curry and they were later joined in marriage.  It was during that era that he entered the army and served in Germany. Upon coming home, he began working in farm labor and later began driving trucks.  Loving the Pixley area so much, he and Fannie decided to build their own home to raise the children. He was an involved dad who not only walked with his children to Sunday School but stayed there with them.  He played baseball, kickball, whatever the game was that day, he was there. Then came the days of going to the Roller Derby to see their favorite team "The Thunderbirds" . We used to have movie nights, ice cream nights, and Saturday morning drives. You might say, "He seemed to have more fun than the kids, hmmm; maybe he himself was the biggest kid of all!"
Among those who preceded him in death are his wife, Fannie Williams, his Parents-Claude and Laura Williams, his siblings -Ben Williams, Dorothy Mae Williams, Lola Mae Williams, Hosea Williams, and 1 son-in-law (Pastor Nathaniel Hairston).
Those left to mourn his passing are his 5 children; Naomi Ruth Dixon (Three Rivers, Ca.), Mary Ann Williams (Lemoore, Ca.) Diana Hairston (Tulare, Ca) Kevin Williams (Bakersfield, CA) and Keith Williams (Visalia, Ca), 1 sister - Mother Lillie Mae Vaughn (Idabel Oklahoma) 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, among a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
