William W.C. Cooper

William C. "W.C." Cooper, 91, was born February 08, 1926 in Idabel to Wishon Cooper and Emma Whitaker. He passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Medical City Plano in Plano, Texas.

W.C. attended school at Slater and Booker T. Washington High School in Idabel. He joined the Navy and served as Seaman First Class in World War II.

He worked for the United States Postal Service in Tennessee. After moving back to Idabel, he worked at Weyerhaeuser in Valliant until he retired. He and his wife loved children and were foster parents with OKDHS for a number of years. Mr. Cooper was considered to be a kind and gentle man.

He met and married Francis Cooper in Lavages, NV.

W.C. was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leroy Smith.

He is survived by his wife Francis Cooper of Idabel, and two sons, Eric Evans of Idabel, and Richard Sutton of Temple, Texas; and three grandchildren; Special friends, Mrs. Brenda Boyd of Goodwater and Kellye Blankenship and family of Konawa Oklahoma; and a host of friends and relatives.

Brother Jerry Falling will officiate the service.

Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery, Idabel.
