On Saturday, March 15, 1947, Wendell Dudley Corley was born the fifth child of Carroll Bertrum and Ivy Anderson Corley in Idabel, Oklahoma. He lived the majority of his life (with the exception of a few years) in Idabel, Oklahoma.
On Friday, March 24, 1967, he married his high school sweetheart, Donnie Faye Cubit and to this union three children were born.
He accepted Christ at an early age at First Baptist Westside in Idabel and was a member until his death. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1965. Wendell enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing dominoes and grilling. He had a special passion for cooking. He retired from Weyerhaeuser Paper Company after working for over 30 years.He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll B. Corley, Sr., his wife Donnie Faye Cubit Corley, his mother Ivy Anderson Corley, brother Clifford Anderson, sister Betty Calloway, brother Thomas Corley, sister Dorothy Washington, nephew Clifton Corley, brother Carl Richard Corley and brother Carroll B. Corley, Jr.
He leaves to preserve his memory three children Angela Finch (Paris, TX), Trina Corley and Christopher Corley (Arlington, TX), two granddaughters Arielle Finch and Kaelen Corley, two brothers Alvin Anderson and Billy Wayne Corley, six sisters, Francis Johnson (James), Geneva Walker, Shirlene Norris, Ginger Matthews (John), Evelyn Corley-Andrews and Linda Sue Vega (Gil) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and acquaintances.
