Vernell Ramsey

Vernell Ramsey was born February 8, 1942 to Alberta Bizzell (Ramsey) and Idis Ramsey in Eagletown, Oklahoma. He passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

He was employed with Weyerhaeuser for 35 years, served on the Broken Bow School Board, owned real estate, and also served as a Deacon and Trustee at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Broken Bow.

Vernell is preceded in death by: his mother and father; six brothers, Jewel, Jesse, Jerry, Willard, Allen and Idis Jr.; three sisters, Mary Lee Evans, Evaline Ramsey and Luvada Ramsey; his grandmother, Mayliza Burris; aunt, Roberta Lewis; uncles, A.W. Burris and Parker Burris;

He leaves to cherish his memory: Jessie M. Johnson; three daughters, Gwendolyn Ramsey, Rhonda Ramsey and Megan Smith; one son, Vernell Ramsey, Jr.; two sisters, Odessie Cubit of Eagletown, and Ossie Wilson of Broken Bow; half-brother, Leroy Ramsey; step-sister, Willie Mae Sills; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services are set for 11 am Saturday June 15, 2013 at the Assembly of God Church in Broken Bow, OK with Rev. Burnis Burrell Eulogist.

Interment will follow at the Lukfata Cemetery, Broken Bow, ok
