Obituary
Verna Mae Henderson was born January 7, 1929 to Eddie and Shelby Williams in Harris, Oklahoma. She went to sleep in death August 24, 2011 at Dubuis Hospital in Paris, Texas
On September 6, 1949 she married Troy Lee Henderson and to this union three children were born.
She started her career in 1957 as a clerk at Los Angeles County Hospital. Also at that time she found a relationship with Jehovah God, where she later was baptized as a Jehovah Witness on June 14, 1955. Verna was a devoted wife, mother, sister, as well as a faithful Witness of Jehovah until her death.
She retired and moved back to Idabel in 1982. Among her many outstanding qualities was her self-sacrificing love and compassion which are often remembered by those who knew her well.
Preceding Verna in death is: a son, Troy Lee Henderson, Jr; sister, Eva Benn; three brothers, Eddie Lee, Cleophus, and Frenzel Williams.
Verna also leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Troy of the home, daughter, Angel Ward of Los Angeles, California, son, Standford Lee Henderson of Tulsa, Oklahoma;four sisters, Louise Williams of Compton, California, Johnnie R. Abair, Diana Manley, Mary Grant of Hemet, California; four grandchildren, Lisa, Angel, Vernetta, & Angela; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for 11 AM September 3rd, 2011 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Brother Howard Ellis officiating.
Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery.
