With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Velma Simpson, who peacefully departed this life at the age of 80. Velma was a shining light of love, strength, and kindness, touching the lives of all who knew her.
Born in Idabel, Oklahoma, Velma lived a life of grace, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family. She was a nurturing soul who always put others before herself, offering wisdom, laughter, and an open heart to those in need.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Danielle Johnson-Hurt, and her cherished grandchildren, Madison, Mason, and Madilyn Hurt. She will also be deeply missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Velma is reunited in heaven with her mother, Mattie C. Hill, father, James Simpson, sister, Edna Clay, and brother, Richard Williams Jr.
A celebration of Velma's life will take place on Friday, March 7th, at Williamston Cemetery at 10 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the beautiful life she lived.
Though she may no longer walk beside us, Velma's love, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to family will live on in our hearts. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.
