Sonia Hall

February 15, 1965 — February 10, 2026

Idabel Oklahoma

Sonia Hall, born on February 15, 1965, in the embrace of love and family, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, leaving behind a cherished legacy of kindness and connection. A devoted daughter, proud mother, loving sister, and a friend to many, Sonia was well-known for her gentle spirit and her easy-going personality, which made her a favorite among those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sonia enjoyed an accomplished career as a forklift operator at Valvoline Oil Company, where her dedication and hard work were evident. Her education at Forman High School in 1983 set the foundation for her active and vibrant life, as she not only excelled academically but also engaged in sports, particularly basketball and track, while also participating as a flag girl for four years. These experiences nurtured her strong character and laid the groundwork for the warm relationships she cultivated throughout her life.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Sonia was a decorative person who found joy in simple pleasures. She loved doing hair and working diligently in her yard, activities that showcased her creativity and appreciation for beauty. She was deeply embedded in her community and was known for her friendly demeanor, always approachable and ready to lend an ear or a helping hand.

Sonia’s life was enriched by her family. She leaves to lovingly cherish her memory her daughter, Tia ShaCoy Hall; six sisters, Katherine Hall, Sherry Hall, Sharon Cooney, Tracy Copeland, Patricia Hall, and Gloria Scales-Peterson; two brothers, James “Butch” Hall Jr. and Tyrone Griffin; and uncles, Lesley Deloney and Gonzollis Chrisp, along with her aunt, Deborah Nelson. Sonia is also survived by her beloved nieces, including Monica, Lakeana, Amber Hall, and Shania Golston; nephews Kenyon Townsend, Jamia Hall, and Jawuan Jackson; and a host of great-nieces, nephews, including her great-great-niece, Willow Reign, whom she adored, as well as one great-great-nephew. Additionally, she leaves behind six first cousins who were more like siblings to her: Lesley, Trevor, Allegra, Carlton Deloney, Ricky, Rodney, Carl, and Lawuan Latson, alongside many friends who will miss her dearly.

Sonia was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and James Coy Hall; her brother, Gerald Hall; and her sisters, Meronica and Tonya Lynn Hall. Their love, although lost, remains a guiding light in the hearts of those who remain.

Her vibrant spirit will continue to resonate at the memorial service to be held at Life Purpose Church, located at 1412 Martin Luther King St., Idabel, on February 21, 2026, starting at 1:00 PM. Pastor Erby will officiate the service, celebrating her life and the indelible mark she left on all those fortunate enough to have known her.
