Ruby Jewel Scott Watson

April 13, 1933 — March 30, 2013

Ruby Jewell (Scott) Watson, 79 years of age, was born April 13, 1933 in Harris, Oklahoma to Jessie and Geneva (Smith) Scott. She was adopted at an early age and was raised by Pink and Buena (Lewis) Watson Young. Ruby went to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 5:36 in the evening from McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma.

"Jewell," as Miss Buena always called her, was the baby of Jessie and Geneva Scott's union. Later, she had to give up that title when Mr. Jessie had two more children, Oneta Ann Lee and Frances Marie Scott.

Ruby attended Slater School and was a homemaker all of her life. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Beulah Chapel Baptist Church. Honorable mention of Elder Tony Boyce, who was her pastor and instrumental to her Christian walk for many years.

In 2000, she moved from Idabel, Oklahoma to Texas to live close to her son (Pastor Scott) and his wife. She then moved to Macon, Missouri in 2006 where her daughter, Geneva lives and works.

In her later years, after returning to Idabel, Ruby united and attended Plainview Missionary Baptist Church where her son Pastors until her health no longer allowed her to attend. She was a "Mother" of the church.

She was preceded in death by: both sets of parents and her step mother Lula Pearl Scott; three brothers, Murray Scott, Squire Scott and Willard Scott; three sisters, Elnora Scott, Genora Scott-Braxton and Frances Marie Scott; and one daughter Leola Marie Scott.

Precious memories of Ruby will remain with: one brother, Perry Scott and wife Catherine of Oklahoma City; one sister, Oneta Ann Lee and husband Harold of Oklahoma City; three sons, William Nathaniel Watson, Pastor John H. Scott and wife Jacquelyn, and Ivory Lee Scott and wife Joyce all of Idabel, Oklahoma; one daughter, V.
