Ruby Juanita Ledbetter

September 4, 1921 — January 16, 2023

Ruby Juanita Proctor was born September 4, 1921, to George Washington Proctor and Nettie Lou (Green) Proctor.

Ruby Juanita (Proctor) Ledbetter went to sleep in death on January 16, 2023, at her home in Idabel.

Ruby married Jesse Dee Ledbetter on December 3 rd , 1936, and to this union, 9 children were born.

She loved her family, friends, and congregation.

She loved cooking and always had a cake of some kind to share with everyone. On Sunday there was usually a pot of beans, cornbread and a chocolate cake and the house was always full of family and friends. During family gatherings she loved to play Skip-Bo.

Her husband, Jesse, taught her to crochet, and she loved making Afghans for loved ones.

  • After getting an iPad, she really enjoyed solving puzzles and she was good at it! She also loved face-timing with her children, and family.

She dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized as a Witness of Jehovah on March 26, 1988. She was a faithful member until her death. Ruby loved spending time expressing her faith. And she loved spending time with her congregation family, and with people in her community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Washington Proctor, and Nettie Lou (Green) Proctor, husband, Jesse Dee Ledbetter, son Jewel Wesley Ledbetter, and daughter Bonnie Louise Graham.

Cherishing her memory are four daughters; Myrtle Lee Combrink (spouse Don) of Phoenix, Az., Fay Newman (spouse Keith) of Kingston, OK., Betty Sue Lesley of Idabel, Jessie (Cookie) Juanita Jennings, (spouse Larry) of Raleigh, NC., three sons; John Michael (Johnny) Ledbetter of Idabel, James Edward Ledbetter (spouse Kathy), and Jesse Dee (JD) Ledbetter Jr. (spouse Floetta) all of Idabel, one brother Gene Newton of Mena, Ar., 23 grandchildren, and many Great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

She also had a congregation family that loved her.

Public viewing is scheduled for Friday, the 20th until 6 pm at Nunley Funeral Home.

Family viewing is scheduled from 6-8 pm, Friday the 20th.

Her funeral is scheduled for 1:00 pm Saturday, January 21 at the Valliant Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses with Brother Robert Nunley officiating. It will be broadcast over Zoom.
