Rose M Burris Mcvea

Rosie May (Burris) McVea was born to L.E. Dunlap and Ozzie Burris on December 18, 1950 in Harris, Oklahoma.
She spent most of her childhood in Hugo, Oklahoma where she attended Booker T. Washington. Her teenage years were spent in Oklahoma City where the attended Central High School.
Upon graduation, she met and married Larry D. McVea. To this union three children were born. She relocated to Oakland, California then to Stockton, California where she had a daughter. In the mid 1980's she moved to Idabel, Oklahoma where she met and married Lynn Braxton, who precedes her in death.
She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; one son, LaRay McVea; one daughter, Larrie DeAnn; two brothers, Lewis Dunlap and Willie "Boo" Burris; two sisters, Carrie Sue Spicer and Elise Fay Lawrence.
Rosie is survived by: LaChe McVea of Shawnee, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law Wilisha Jackson-Nicholas and Marvin; five grandchildren, Che'Juana Jackson of Idabel, Thomesha Elves and husband Alex of Idabel, RoNequa Jackson of Shawnee, Isaiah Ervin of Durant, Oklahoma, and LaChe' S. McVea of Shawnee; four great grandchildren, Za'Kyan, La'Rian, Rhianna, and Romeo; two brothers, Henry Burris and Robert Butler of Idabel; along with a host of other family members and friends.
"RoeMay", as close family called her, will greatly be missed and will always be loved.
A Grave Side Funeral Service is set for 10 am Saturday October 25th at Antioch Cemetery, Harris Oklahoma.
