Reuben Butler

Reuben Butler was born June 15, 1935 in Foreman Arkansas the nineth of nine children born to Almon and Jessie Ann Butler. He was call to glory on Monday, November 2, 2020 surrounded by his family.

He graduated from Booker T. Washington High school in Idabel. Shortly after graduation he moved to Richmond, California.  Reuben soon found employment working in construction. He also was a locksmith.

Later in life he met and married Eula Jones Butler

Reuben loved sports especially the Oakland Raiders, and he bought their season tickets every year. He enjoyed playing dominoes with family and friends. Also, he enjoyed ocean fishing.

When Eula and Reuben retired, they kept a promise to mother and sister Rachel, and moved back to Idabel in 2005. They soon joined Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 52 years Eula, five children; Errol (Julia), Ronald (Connie), Robert (Pier)Butler, Joyce Ann (Shaun) Hudson, Gregory (Janice) Jones, and 8 grandchildren,  3 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church family, 2 special nieces; Tiney and Helena Hart, and a special nephew Lee Butler.

Waiting at heavens gates with open arms will be his parents Almon and Jessie Butler, Sisters: Girlatha Thompson, Lerenda Brown, Alma Scott, Rachel Warhop, Vera Robinson along with his Aunts, Uncle, Cousins and Friends to cherish his memory.

A Graveside Service is set for 11 am Friday November 13 th at Williamston Cemetery Pavilion Idabel, OK., with Dr Herbert E. Smith officiating.

Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery
