Ray Charles Fields was born March 1, 1954 to Isaac and Minnie Fields in Foreman, Arkansas. He passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He attended school in Foreman, Arkansas and Haworth, Oklahoma. He graduated from Haworth High School in 1972. He was an exceptional basketball player with the Haworth Lions. He moved to Oklahoma City where he lived until his passing. He was employed by Lawton Construction for 20 years. He attended Peoples Church in Oklahoma City.

Ray Charles was loved by everyone with whom he came in contact. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Isaac and Minnie Fields; sister, Ophelia Fields; and four brothers, Johnny Mack Fields. Sylvester Fields, Isaac Fields, Jr. and LeRoy "LJ" Fields.

He leaves to mourn his death: daughter, Tamika Fields and grandchildren, Tasheona, Zion, and Braylin, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Life companion, Glenda Byrd and her children, Kisha Byrd and Teddy Byrd, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Four sisters, Mary Fields, Ola Fay (Joe) Turner, Letha Fields, all of Tom, Oklahoma; and Wanda Jean Cursh of Haworth, Oklahoma. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
