Prince Hatchett Jr.

Prince Hatchett, Jr. was born to Ella Mae and Prince Albert Hatchett, Sr. on March 4, 1935. He passed away on March 2, 2015 at the age of 79.

"Junior" as he was known to all, was born and raised in Foreman, Arkansas. Upon graduating from Unity High School in 1954, he moved to "The City" (Oklahoma City) where he worked as a cook. Junior's brother-in-law, Uncle Lee, a truck driver, invited him to join him on a delivery. Junior was hooked. He became an interstate truck driver for the Safeway Corporation and logged countless miles and hours over his career.

After retirement, he returned home where he owned and operated the popular area club "Our Place" in Haworth, Oklahoma, until his health began to decline.
Junior is preceded in death by: his parents Ella Mae and Prince Albert Hatchett and two sisters, Alice Virginia (Hatchett) Waller and Maebell Hatchett.

Those Junior leaves to cherish his memory include: his wife, Ivory Mae (Jones) Hatchett; children, Andrew Hatchett and wife Dorothy of Fresno, California, Barbara Ann Hatchett of San Jose, California, Kelvin Hatchett of San Jose, California, Janet Hatchett-Odebumni of Oklahoma City, Darryl Hatchett of San Diego, California, Kevin Hatchett and wife Sherri of Temecula, California, and Sherene Payton of Adelanto, California; grandchildren, Maurice, Melody and Andrew Hatchett, Jr., Deshawn Kennedy, Gianna and Marlowe Hatchett, Joseph Odebumni, Jemario Martin and Daryl Alexus, Khristopher Duane, Kevin Jr. and Angel Hatchett, and Lynal Givens, Chance Givens and Justice Clary; two brothers, Zebdee Hatchett of Midwest City, Oklahoma and James Cooper of Tom, Oklahoma; seven great grandchildren, 13 nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.


Funeral arrangements are set for 11 am Saturday at St. Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Foreman Arkansas with Rev. Robert Easter officiating.

Interment will follow at Alford French Cemetery, Foreman, Arkansas.

A private family viewing is scheduled from 2-4 pm Friday at the funeral home.
