Pearline Washington-Williams was born on August 25, 1943 to the late Frank Washington and Mittie Bell Hines in Idabel, OK. She passed on June 11, 2017 at St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, TX.
She received the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jasper Wiley. She attended Riverside Elementary and graduated from Riverside High School in 1962. After graduation, she traveled to Fredrick, OK, Kansas City, MO; and settled in Las Vegas, NV. While there, she married John Williams and was employed by the Sands Hotel and Casino.
In 1968, she relocated to Los Angeles, CA and united with the Greater Wayside Church Of God In Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) under the leadership of Sylvester James King. Pearline sang in the choir and worked in various ministries in the church. She had a passion for singing, cooking, giving, and helping the needy. She attended Los Angeles Southwest College where she studied child development and psychology.
In 2003, she again relocated to Las Vegas where she married her current husband, Eric Ray Williams. They moved to Idabel, then later; to Texarkana, AR where they united with Trinity Full Gospel Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Calvin Solomon.
Preceding her in death were her parents, seven brothers – Booker T. Washington, James W. Washington, Rufus Washington, Henry Washington, Lonnie Washington, George Washington, and Chester Washington; and five sisters – Mary Ann Washington, Alice M. Butler, Gearlene Threadgill, Ruby Jewel Washington, and Willene Threadgill.
Pearline leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband of 13 years, Eric Ray Williams. Six children – Randy (Diane) Washington of Palmdale, CA; Otis J. Young of Atascadero, CA; Carla D. McQueen of Lancaster, CA; Tomeka T.Cunningham of Los Angeles, CA; Corinthian C. Edwards of Ely, NV; and Cordiaro C. Williams of Texarkana, AR. Four sisters – Virginia Street of Grambling, LA; Dazzy Washington of Dallas, TX; Pastor Dorothy Hayes of Las Vegas, NV and Gladys Tucker of Sacramento, CA. Also, twenty-two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 11 O'Clock AM at Trinity Full Gospel Baptist Church in Texarkana, TX with Bishop Calvin Solomon, officiating.
Interment will be on Thursday in Arkansas Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR.
