In Loving Memory of Mrs. Pauline Wakefield
Mrs. Pauline (Taylor) Wakefield, affectionately known as (Ms. Polly), 98, was born to William Taylor Sr. and Tennessee (Ricks) Taylor.
She was born in Foreman, AK in 1913. She formed a life in Idabel, OK at an early age.
She married in the early 1940's to Mr. James Wakefield.
Mrs. Wakefield has been widowed over fifty years.
Mrs. Wakefield supported herself by working as a domestic maid to many families within the McCurtain county area. She has been retired for over fifty years.
Mrs. Wakefield was released from Hills Nursing Home to be with her family in Tulsa, OK. She was admitted into St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK on June 20, 2011 and she was called home on June 26, 2011.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Willye L. Evans-Corley (Tulsa), three grandchildren: Clifton Corley, Sonya Corley, and Bertrum Corley (all of Tulsa). Ms. Polly had one great-grandchild Aubrey Corley (Tulsa). Two sisters: Suretha Adams (Corona, CA) and Tressie Henderson (Seattle, WA). She has a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services are set for 11 AM Tuesday July 5, 2011 at Plainview Baptist Church with Pastor John Scott officiating.
Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery.
