Nathaniel Vann Goodlow, age 87, passed away from his earthly life on September 9, 2020. He was born June 17, 1933 to Jimmie and Helen Goodlow in Idabel, Ok.
He attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington School. Nathaniel was a popular young man who played basketball for the Wildcats. He joined the Olive Branch Baptist Church in Idabel as a youth. He song in the choir and walked faithfully in the Church in Idabel. He served as Assistant Sunday School Superintendent.
He joined the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Tacoma, Washington.
Nathaniel married his high school sweetheart, Wyesther Butler to this union five boys were born. Later Nathaniel married Emma Jean Gibson, and to this union one daughter was born.
He returned to Idabel in 1990 and relocated to Valliant, Oklahoma where he became a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church in Valliant under the leadership of Rev. Burnis Burrell, where he remained a member until his death.
Nathaniel was always cheerful, friendly, and very outgoing. One of his greatly joys was being around his family and friends. We were blessed to have him as our brother, father, cousin, friend, and mentor.
Nathaniel was preceded in death by parents Jimmie ad Helen Goodlow, Brother; Marbro Goodlow, Nephew; Arthur L. Burris, Jr., (Chuck)
He leaves to cherish his memories Wyesther Goodlow, five sons; Nathaniel Vann Goodlow II ( Teresa) Wynton Goodlow, Vincent Goodlow, Sebastian Goodlow, and Bishop Dr. Ardrian Goodlow (Angela) of California; One daughter; Nakisha Goodlow, One Sister; Lou E. Burris, Nephew; Michael Burris (Vanessa), Special Cousin; Joy Hill, Idabel Ok., 17 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.
A Graveside Service is set for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Williamston Cemetery with Pastor Burnis Burrell officiating.
