The Obituary

On June 17, 2022, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called his servant home. She ended her earthly journey peacefully at home.

Sis. Myrtle Ruth Miller was born August 6, 1931, in Haworth, Oklahoma to Annie Mae Frost and Elbert Boyd. She was the eldest of six children.

Myrtle graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Idabel OK in 1951. She left home in November 1952 to receive higher education and attended Wright Jr. College in Chicago, IL. She moved to Detroit, Michigan, and started work in 1953 at Wright Mutual Insurance Company. After 2 years she moved to Toledo, OH, and worked for Supreme Life Insurance Company until December 1955. She relocated to Chicago, IL where she married Osbeau M. Miller for 30 years until his death. Myrtle worked for 3M Company for 16 years. She later went to work at Cooke County Courthouse as a Court Clerk for 13 years. She took early retirement in 1991 and relocated back to her hometown of Idabel, OK.

Myrtle was an active member of First Baptist Church Westside for over 30 years. Over the years, her services included Recording Secretary for the S. E. District Association, President of the Mission, and Choir Member. She was also an avid Sunday School attendee. She was faithful in her service to God and her church until her health began to decline. She moved with her daughter to Texas who assisted her with her care.

Myrtle loved fashion and she loved to travel, especially internationally. She was loved and admired by all and touched the lives of many with her gentle smile, her loving disposition, her sense of "humor", and the kind words that she had for all whom she met.
