Mattie Mae Mcclinton

January 17, 1920 — July 16, 2011

Sister Mattie Mae McClinton was born on January 17, 1920 in Hooks, Texas. She was one of 20 children born to the union of the late Jim and Mattie Perryman.

Sister McClinton confessed Christ at an early age. As a woman of deep faith in God, she was a faithful member of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years. She served the Lord and her church faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher and a Mission Society President.

Sister McClinton met and married the love of her life, Mr. Wyatt "WM" McClinton on December 3, 1939. To this blessed union of 69 years and 11 months, eight sons and seven daughters were born.

A loving homemaker, Sister McClinton was known by everyone as a dedicated, dependable, hardworking, and loyal God fearing Christian. One of her favorite past times was fellowshipping with the people she loved. In her free time she enjoyed reading, fishing, sewing, gardening and cooking.

To know her was to love her. Her beautiful spirit, smile, love and kindness will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Sister McClinton was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Wyatt "WM" McClinton; four sons, Earlee McClinton, Curtis McClinton, Charles McClinton, and James McClinton; parents, Jim and Mattie Perryman; five sisters, Doris Norton, Charlie Daniels, Ella Rolfe, Donia Caldwell, Mable Washington; two brothers Curtis Perryman and Jimmy Perryman.

Sister McClinton leaves to cherish and honor her legacy, seven daughters, Lucy (Daryl) Parker, Shirley Gordon, Lois (Howard) Healis, Annie Jewel (Don) Taylor, Annie Faye McClinton all of Aurora, CO, Joyce Council and Carolyn (Lewis) Perry both of Atlanta, GA; four sons, Mack (Gwen) McClinton, Eddie McClinton both of Seattle, WA, Billy McClinton of Indianapolis, IN and Jessie McClinton of Parker, CO; 38 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Jesse Perryman of Omaha, NE and L.K. Perryman of Lemoore, CA; two sisters, Eva Richardson of Pine Bluff, AR; and Willa Gilreath of Omaha, NE; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services are set for 1PM Saturday July 23, 2011 at Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev Allen Wayne Gulley officiating.

Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery, Idabel.
