Mary Daniels Ramsey

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the Faith.

On April 8, 1954, a set of twins was born to the late Roy and Thelma Daniels, Mary and Martha. Mary gained her wings on September 16, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family who she loved dearly.

She attended Denison elementary school until 8th grade when she transferred to Idabel Gray HighSchool. Later, she finished her general studies at Job Corps in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Mary had several jobs that she enjoyed until her health failed.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially riding with her road dawg; niece, Amanda, who allowed her to do whatever she wanted to do. Mary loved the sound of loud pipes on her grandson Marshawn's car and would make him take her to hit several blocks. She was known as the family comedian and always kept the family laughing. Mary was known for her dance moves and got the nickname "May Cake". She would greet people with "You don't know my name."

She was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Thelma Daniels; her only son, Phillip Ray Ramsey, husband; Jewel Ramsey, sisters; Velma Britt and Bettye Ann Daniels, and special companion of 24 years, Joe Eastland.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters; Marsha Ramsey, Melissa Ramsey (Gregory), grandchildren; Roland Bailey (Jada), Mandela Duncan, Marshawn Bailey, Freddie Colvin (Emily), Keontric Ricks (Brandy), Kasandra Young, and Zaidmyra Wilson, and 13 great-grandchildren; sisters; Tissie, Alma, Martha (twin), Bobbie, and Anna, brother; Leroy.

Also; remembering her with love, her best friend; Marlena Adams; good friend; Billy Mack, 2 special sons-in-law, Lemeco Winston and Gregory Johnson, a dear friend whom she called her son, Franklin Jordan, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service is set for 1:00 pm Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the By-Pass Church of Christ with Pastor A. W. Gulley officiating.
Interment will follow at Richland Cemetery, Idabel.
