Marquetta Yevett Veasley

Marquetta Yevett Hearn Veasley was born September 23, 1972, in Idabel, Oklahoma to Frances Ruth Woodard Hearn and the Late Wilbert Murel Hearn.

Mrs. Veasley received her education in several school districts:  Valliant School District - Valliant, OK; Troutdale School District - Troutdale, OR and Marshall ISD - Marshall, TX.

Marquetta was baptized by Moderator Jimmy Williams of Maple Springs Baptist Church - Idabel, OK. She attended various churches throughout her life including Mt. Sinai Church of God and Christ – Idabel, OK; Ebenezer United Methodist Church – Marshall, TX; Olive Branch Baptist Church – Valliant, OK and Spring Hill Baptist Church – Idabel, OK.

Among her favorite things she loved to engage in were cooking, fishing, styling hair, dancing and spending time with family and friends. Marquetta enjoyed life.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Damita (Donnie) Coleman; one son, Kevan Hearn, both of Valliant, OK; eight grandchildren; Nevaeh Garvin, Jalove Barr, Donnie Coleman, Jr., Da'Niya Coleman, Robert Collum, Layla Fletcher, Trenton Finch, and Kevan Hearn, Jr.; one sister, Sonya K. Woodard – Idabel, OK; a special surrogate brother, Steve Golston – Idabel, OK; a loving mother and stepfather, Frances R. and Eugene Forte – Valliant, OK; special uncle and aunt, Willie S. Woodard – Valliant, OK and Theressa (Phillip) Hudson – Marshall, TX; Nieces Christy and Canesha Humphrey; nephew Kerry Humphrey, Jr and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Her Funeral is set for 1:00 PM Saturday, March 16th, 2024, at Olive Branch Baptist Church Valliant, OK with Pastor Burnis Burrell Jr. officiating.

Interment will follow at the Elliott Cemetery in Valliant, OK.
