On August 4, 2016, Marilynn L. Williams departed this life at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas surrounded by family and friends. She was born on June 11, 1959 in Foreman, Arkansas to James D. and Wilma Williams.
At an early age, she professed her belief in GOD and joined church at New Dora Baptist Church in Tom where she attended for many years. Recently, she affiliated with Macedonia Baptist Church in Idabel.
She graduated from Haworth High School in 1977. While there, she was active in school organizations and sports. She attended Murray State College after graduation. For 16 years, she was employed as a heavy mobile equipment mechanic at Red River Army Depot.
Marilynn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie Floyd and Ethel Marshall, Cloud, AR, and Henry and Ethel Williams, Tom, OK. Also, her mother, Wilma Williams, Tom, OK.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Father- James D. Williams, Tom, OK; two daughters –LaTasha (Marco) Sanford, Cartersville, GA.; and Shamisha (Derick) Hunt, Idabel; five grandchildren – Tahjane' Harris, Marco Sanford, Damaya Hunt, Markayla Sanford, and Derica Hunt. Also, three brothers – Gene Dougles (Sharron) Williams, Texarkana, TX.; Kevin L. Williams, Tom, OK; Shedrick (Angela) Jones, Muskogee, OK; God-brother – Corey (Tara) McElroy, Ashdown, AR and four sisters – Beverly A. (Steven) Brown, Tom, OK, Loretta K. Beasley, Idabel, OK; Carolyn (Melvin) Smith, DeSoto, TX; Pamela Briley, Idabel, OK.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, 7-9 PM, at Nunley Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements are set for 11 AM on Saturday August 13, 2016 at the By Pass Church of Christ, Idabel, with Rev. Larry Rutherford officiating.
Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery.
