Loretta Whitmore

Loretta (Lewis) Whitmore was born July 29, 1944, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to the parentage of the late Shepard Lewis and Josephine (Carter) Boyles.

She attended Dunbar High School in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. She worked for Weyerhaeuser until she retired. She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

On August 26, 1968, she married Jimmy Lee Whitmore. She had two sons. God called Loretta home to rest on Monday, January 6, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her father, Shepard Lewis; mother, Josephine (Carter) Boyles; one son, Andrea L. Lewis; two brothers, Aaron L. Lewis and Calvin Boyles; two sisters; Mary Y. (Lewis) Anderson and Carolyn A. Boyles; one grandson, Jay Watson.

Family to cherish her memory; son, Winfred Ray Lewis, two brothers, Willie Charles Lewis Sr., (Demise), Charles Boyles Jr. (Effie); two sisters; Charleszetta Alexander, Gwendolyn (Boyles) (Smith) (Davy), Special loved ones Rihylan Musgraves, Khar Rington Musgraves, Vonya Traylor, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Her funeral is set for 1:00 pm. January 15th at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Darnell Wagner officiating.

Interment will follow at the Slater Cemetery Wright City, OK 74745
