Lorene Viney was born to Charlie and Cealie Norwood September 28, 1922 in Harris Oklahoma. She passed away on Monday November 23, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Lorene was affectionately known as "Madea" to her loved ones and fondly remembered as "Suga Mama" by her church family at Community Faith Fellowship. One of her life's passions was quilting. She shared her heart through her hand sewn quilts. Lorene never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, whether sitting and talking on the porch, or hosting family gatherings. Lorene was the nucleus of her family.
She attended Pleasant Hill School in Harris, Oklahoma and went on to focus her career in food service at Hill's Nursing Home, retiring with more than twenty years of service.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Robert, Cordell, Arthur, James, Norman, John, and Juanita, two children; Ollie Mae Perry, and Sarah Galloway.
She leaves to cherish her memory seven children; Paul Viney, Glenda Austin, Orie Bradford, Betty Warren, and Beverly Sherman all of Idabel, Theodis Walker (Lou) of Hemstead, TX; and Lessie Johnson (Bishop Govenor) of San Fransisco, California, son-in-law Malcolm Galloway. She leaves 31 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren spanning 5 generations. A host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones to forever cherish her memories.
Funeral arrangements are set for 11 am Friday November 27, 2015 at Community Faith Fellowship with Pastor Kevin B. Haywood officiating.
Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening at Nunley's Funeral Home from 6-8 pm.
