Learline Simpson

Learline Haney Simpson, (Aunt Dittie) was born October 10, 1928 in Foreman,Arkansas to Tom and Mary Jones Haney. She moved to Idabel, Oklahoma in 1940 and attended B.T.W. School. She later married Charlie Simpson and lived in Peora, Ill. She returned to Idabel and had two sons; O.T. and Arthur Simpson by Stacey F. Patterson.

Learline united with First Baptist Church Westside where she served as Usher and was member of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Tom and Mary Haney; two brothers: H.T. and Otis Haney; two sisters, Hazel and Essie Haney, one son; Rev. O.T. Simpson and great-grandson, Terrell L. Streeter.

Learline leaves to morn and is survived by her baby son, Arthur Simpson (Dusty Rhodes) Idabel, Oklahoma nephew, Whalion Dewberry, Sr.; granddaughter, Tisha Streeter; One sister, Dorothy Alberty, of Idabel Oklahoma; brother, William Penn Phillips, Mesquite, Texas; daughter-in-law, Jaqueline Y. Streeter; four great-grandchildren; Arieyona Streeter, Teryonia Streeter, Taevyon Streeter, Tiara Streeter and great-great-grandchild, Ayana Bryer, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, two nephews, Jerry Haney, Charles Cheatham; great nephews, Whalion Dewberry, Jr. and Deon Dewberry of Idabel, Oklahoma; great niece, Lisa and Jerry Threadgill,Sr. of Tom, Oklahoma, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral arrangements are set for 10 a m., Friday June 12, 2015 at First Baptist Church Westside with Rev. Russell Latson officiating.


Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery, Idabel
