Larry Dean Townsend

Larry Dean Townsend, age 73, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, in Idabel, Oklahoma.

Born in 1952, Larry was a lifelong resident of Idabel and had deep roots in the community. He was known for his free spirit, love of fast cars, and devotion to family and friends.

Larry is survived by his loving family and many friends whose lives he touched. He leaves behind his siblings, Glenda, Kenneth, Wanda, Barabra, Fonda, JC- "Big", and Belinda; his children Alandius, Jamillah, Ranae, Kacey, Colette, Larry Jr, and Safari, as well as countless grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Willie Bell, his mother Gertie Mae, and his sister Ellma Faye.

Larry's life will be celebrated in a funeral service scheduled for October 10, 2025, at First Baptist Westside in Idabel. Friends and family are invited to attend this celebration of his life.

He leaves behind a legacy of strength, passion for life, and family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

May he rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in the many lives he touched.
