It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ken Nuckols, who departed this life on March 16, 2024, at the age of 89 in Idabel Oklahoma. Although he was born an Oklahoma native in Hennessey on June 16, 1934, he never settled in the state. Ken's life was marked by numerous achievements including service to his country, civil rights, academic achievements, commitment to his family, his passion for his hobbies, along with his ideas for the betterment of himself.
With honor and distinction, Ken served in the United States Army for three years. Which demonstrated his patriotism and valor to his country. After his service in the Army, he decided to continue his pursuit of knowledge by attaining a Bachelor's Degree from Kent State and his Master's from Case Western Reserve University. Which in and of itself was a challenge in the 50s and 60s in this country. Thus, demonstrating his dedication to obtaining his desired education.
Ken became a man of culture and creativity he delighted in reading, the arts of painting, and photography. Ken's engagement in hobbies became more than a pastime it became an outlet of expression allowing for time to fine-tune his talent in the arts including his many holes-in-one while playing the gentlemanly game of golf. He so enjoyed playing alongside his wife Ozella! Painting, creating his abstract style as well as his signature clown paintings, or traveling the eastern coast of the United States taking photographs of the lighthouses. His hobbies were more than pastimes; they were reflections of a life lived with enthusiasm and curiosity.
