Joyce LaVern James age 68, passed away at home on December 13, 2019 in Idabel, Oklahoma. She was a graduate of Idabel High School class of 1969. A long-time employee of United States Postal Service, in Haworth, Bristow, Idabel, Oklahoma, and Los Alamos, New Mexico.
She loved cooking for friends and family alike, and lived by her faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, always doing what she could for others in need, whether a friend or family member. She became a fond member of her community and will be greatly missed by all.
Preceded in death by her father and mother; Malvin and Eliza James, brothers; Allen and George James.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her only daughter LeAndrea Kitchens and favorite son-n-law, (Tom) of Glenpool, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Erin Kitchens of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Amy Kitchens of Joplin, Missouri, and Raymond Kitchens of Glenpool, Oklahoma. Four sisters, Melvina Buckland, Siloam Springs, Arkansas; Joni Haddix (Vince), Idabel, Oklahoma, Pamela Middleton (Keith), Idabel, Oklahoma, Polly Kerwin (George) of Red Hill, Alabama; 5 cherished nephews; 3 great-nephews; 1 great niece; loving aunts, Jackie and Arlie Mariss, Margie and Dale Pollard, Opal and Bernice James, adopted nephew, Cody Clark.
A Memorial Services is set for 11 am Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 210 Lincoln Rd., with Howard Ellis, Officiating.
