Jimmie, age 70, passed away on June 28, 2025, at Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, Texas.
He attended Gray High School (later known as Idabel High School) and Central High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jimmie pursued further education at Tulsa Welding School.
Throughout his life, Jimmie called many places home—including California, Kansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, and New York—where he never met a stranger. His career spanned work as both a carpenter and a butcher and he excelled in each with skill and dedication.
Jimmie was known for his impeccable style and flair for fashion—always dressed to impress. If his sharp wardrobe didn't catch your eye, his charm and quick wit surely would. He also had a passion for dominoes and proudly considered himself a master of the game.
He is survived by his son, Ramon Stevens of Tulsa, Oklahoma, his siblings: Roy Lee Norwood and Charlie Mae Norwood Thornton of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Osborne Celestain Jr. of Owasso, Oklahoma, Frankie (Florene) Batey and Joe Ann Batey of Harris, Oklahoma, Eddie (Dannette) Batey of Foreman, Arkansas and Frances Moss of Idabel, Oklahoma. Jimmie also leaves behind a granddaughter, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear friends who each held a special place in his life.
The family takes comfort in knowing that Jimme is now at peace.
