Jean Faye Crocket

April 25, 1939 — November 2, 2021

Jean Faye Crocket was born April 25, 1939, in Idabel, Oklahoma to the proud parents of a sharecropper, Earnest and Corine Shoals in Idabel Oklahoma.   Jean was the third oldest of ten children.  She passed away on Tuesday, Nov 2nd and she will be missed tremendously.

She attended school at Slater where she met many friends.  She accepted Christ as her personal savior early in her life.

Jean met her husband JC Crocket at a young age and they married in 1958 and were still married to date, and to this union, two children were born. She also has a daughter from a previous relationship. She loved spending time with her family and she loved cooking, sewing, and reading.

In 1969 the family moved to St Paul Minnesota, where she worked and retired from 3M Company.  She lived an active life in Minnesota, cooking Sunday dinners for family members, and was also active in North Central Church for over 20 years. After retiring they decided to move back to Idabel, Ok. She became an active member at Springhill Baptist Church. She loved and enjoyed singing for the congregation.  Jean was a very hard worker and she believed in working for what you want. When hard times fell upon her, she worked three jobs to make ends meet, although the 3rd job only lasted a few months because it was just too much for her to do but she sure gave it a try. She loved and enjoyed having pretty and unique things and that was her hobby.

In 1985 her mother Corine Shoals passed away at which time she became the Shoals family monarch, making important decisions for whom ever needed life directions. She also took care of her father until he passed away.

In the end, Jean endured a lot of pain, but she took every punch that came at her with all she had but then it just got to be a little too much for her to bear. She would always say "God has something too special waiting for her".

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Corine Shoals, brothers, Charles, Frank, Sammie, Roy, Joe, and Larry.

She leaves to cherish her life, husband, JC Crocket, daughters, Helen  (Gregory) Larkin, Colorado, Sharon (Derik) Lewis, Colorado, her son, JC  Crocket Jr, Minnesota, grandsons, Lamond Crocket Minnesota, and Brandon (Courtney) Larkin, Colorado, and a great-grandson due in January, which she affectionately called a (snowbird) because of the winter month birth.  Her sister Earnestine Shoals, Minnesota,  brothers, Willie Shoals, Minnesota, and Claude (Lisa) Shoals, Minnesota, sisters in law, Charlie Mae (Raymond) Higgins, Dallas, TX, Charlene Crutchfield, (Minnesota), Johnia (WL) Harris, Juanita Piggee, Dallas, TX, brother in law, Jimmy Crutchfield, Idabel, OK, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other family members.
