On August 26, 1948, a beautiful baby girl named Janie Ann was born to Dee and Myrtle Briscoe at Bromide Oklahoma.
She met Earl Cathey, and he was smart enough not to let her get away. Earl and Janie began their married life together on October 3, 1967.
Janie was a wonderful mother to her four children, and she took great delight in her grandchildren. Janie was known for her delicious cooking and her love of yellow roses.
Janie dedicated her life to Jehovah God in 1982 in Amarillo, Texas. Her favorite scripture was" For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. "Isaiah 41:13
She was preceded in death by her great-grandson Jettson Matthew Peace.
Janie is survived by her husband of 56 years Earl Ray Cathey. Daughter Kathey Cusher and husband Darrell, Daughter Karen Osterdock, Son Allen Cathey and wife Jody, Daughter Kelly Cathey. Her grandchildren Chance, Jessica, Sterling, Hunter, Morgan, Larissa and John. Great grandchildren Shaylie, Faith, Jakkstone, Matty, Jagger, Rayne, Cody, Thoren, and Loclyn.
Honorary Pallbearers are her grandchildren. Chance Cathey, Jessica Osterdock, Sterling Hammond, Hunter and Morgan Cathey, Larissa Ford and John Cusher
A Graveside service is set for 2:00 pm Friday, February 23, 2024, at the Redland Cemetery with words of comfort by Bro Jeff Meredith.
