James Louis Williams

James Louis Williams, Sr., 72 of Idabel passed away February 6, 2013 at his home in Idabel, Oklahoma. He was born February 20, 1940 in Annona, Texas to Captory and Myrtle L. Williams, the third of five children.

James received his education in the public school system in St. Louis, Missouri and Clarksville, Texas. He was employed at the Red River Army Depot, from which he retired. James loved spending time outdoors, working with animals, fishing, hunting, and playing dominoes. He also liked to share stories with everyone from his loved ones to anyone willing to listen.

James is received at his new home by: his parents; his wife, Eva M. Williams; two sons, James L. Williams, Jr. and Gerald Hurd; daughter, Shane F. Compton; sister Daphane Penn.

James leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted spouse of 32 years, Charlesetta Beard of the home; six sons, Eugene McCallister of St. Louis MO, Darryl Williams of DeKalb, TX, Earnest Wooten and James A. Williams, both of Oklahoma City, Gregory Y. Williams of Vinita, OK, and Kacey Beard of Idabel; twelve daughters, Barbara Raines and husband Donnie and Eva Jenean Jackson and husband Darron, both of Idabel, Patrece Williams of Jacksonville, AR, Carolyn Rhone of Paris, TX, Cynthia Compton and husband Terry of Texarkana, TX, Antonio Mosley and husband Corey of Oklahoma City, OK, Katrina Compton of Tulsa, OK, Pamela Parker and husband Reggie of Dallas, TX, Veronica Scales and husband Larrintino, Demetrice Moss and husband Alvin, Shawanna Butler and husband Robert, all of Idabel, Toni Rucker and husband Kevin of Tulsa, OK; two sisters, June Keys of St. Louis, MO and Charity Marshall of Denver, CO; one brother, Kim Williams and wife Beverly of Plano, TX; six sister-in-laws, Sarah Burkins of DeKalb, TX, Pearline Beckcom of Coolidge, AZ, Lea Etta Herrod and husband Clarence, Darnell Dixon, Rosie Beard and husband Albert and Lesley Beard, all of Idabel; three brother-in-laws, Mack Dixon of Wright City, OK, Elfunzo Beard and Douglas Beard, both of Idabel; 60 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. James also leaves many friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews including a very special niece April Brown and her husband Rodney.

Public viewing will be Friday 9:00 – 6:00 PM here at the funeral home.

Services are set for 12 noon Saturday, February 16, 2012 at the Bypass Church of Christ in Idabel with Rev. Michael Massey officiating. Interment will follow at Annona Cemetery in Annona, Texas.
