James Brian Phillips

January 19, 1985 — November 9, 2016

James Brian Phillips, 31, of Valliant, OK was born Jan. 19, 1985 in DeQueen, AR; the son of Eddy and Beverly Phillips who lived in Millerton, OK before moving to Nowata, OK. He went to sleep in death on Nov. 9, 2016 at his home in Tulsa, OK.

James spent the last few years of his life battling brain cancer, but never lost his love for life, or his humorous nature. He was an active member and one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He enjoyed telling others about the things he learned from the bible, and looked forward to the time that he will be reunited with his loved ones. James was outgoing and gregarious in nature and loved making people laugh. He also loved sports and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Otis Phillips, and great-grandmother, Mary Antee Morris.

James is survived in death by his loving and devoted wife, Emily (Love) Phillips and son, Jase Edward Phillips of the home; father and mother, Eddy and Beverly Phillips of Nowata, OK; brother, John Edward (Rachel) Phillips of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters, Amanda Jean Cresta and Alesha Ruth Phillips of Tulsa, OK; and Stacy Ogorek of Pineville, LA.

Also surviving are his grandmother, Mary Ruth Phillips of Millerton, OK; uncles and aunts Joe William and Barbara Phillips of Sobol, OK, and Allen and Tammy Poer of Dallas, TX; cousins Joey and Amy Phillips of Tulsa, OK, Randy and Rebecca Stover of Broken Bow, OK, Jason Poer of Dallas, TX; nephews and nieces, Austin and Maddie Ogorek of Pineville, LA, Emma Cresta, Claira and Abby Baker, Kyler McNally, and Adele Phillips.

Services will be held Friday Nov. 11, 2016 at 10 AM at the Northwest English Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on the corner of Apache and Lewis in Tulsa, OK, with Dewayne Settles officiating.

A Graveside Memorial service will be held at 4 PM in the Valliant Cemetery, Valliant, OK with Robert Nunley officiating.

James is loved and will be greatly missed by many.
