James Charles McAlester-Whitaker age 50 of Idabel, Oklahoma, passed away on September 13, 2016 at Plano, Texas. He was born March 12, 1966 in Valliant, Oklahoma.
James enjoyed watching sports, listening to music and playing with his grandsons. He took pride in spending time with his family and friends. He was an all-state track star for the Idabel Warriors, and was known for breaking records.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter "Sug" McAlester; three siblings, Larry, Glen, and Sharon Whitaker; brother-in-law William Howell; and special friends, Vicki Jefferson, and Sh ane Compton.
James leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Doris Whitaker, Idabel; children, Jamie Compton, Sha'Quoia Compton, James McAlester, Jr., of Idabel; brothers, A.C. Whitaker, wife Evelyn of Idabel; Jackie Whitaker o f Idabel; D.J. Whitaker of Idabel; sisters, Alice Fulsom, husband Melvin of Fayetteville, AR, Valerie Edwards of Oklahoma City, Shirley How ell , Idabel, OK, Jo-Anne Whitaker of Idabel, June Whitaker of Idabel, Vanessa King, hus band Willie King, and Venessa King, husband Cornell King of Idabel; 3 grandsons, whom he loved dearly, Zay'Breion Cooper, Ja'Darrion Cole and Ja'Neilo us Williams. and s pecial niece and nephews, Shayantha Whitaker, Brandon Whitaker and LaMarcus Carter, family, friends, nieces, and nephews.
