OBITUARY
Hervie Daniels, age 91 was called home December 26, 2011 at Saint Michael's in Texarkana, TX. He was born April 25, 1920 to Jessie and Virginia Daniels of Forman, Arkansas. He attended college in Columbia South Carolina at Benedict University. After attending college Hervie proceeded with a career as a school principle and chemistry and math instructor. He also pursued a career in the US Army and reserves, during his enlistment he served in Korea, Vietnam and World War II. As a solder there were many accomplishments which Hervie earned four purple hearts.
After his enlistments Hervie moved to Idabel, Oklahoma and worked for the OSU Forestry extension, Lumber Mill, transportation supplier to those in need and served eighteen years as a certified Ombudsman Volunteer for KEDDO. Among the many achievements Hervie received; Honorary Doctorate in Human Letters and Associate Degree in Biblical Studies from Oklahoma Baptist School of Religion.
Hervie met and married Nancy Rutledge-Daniels, and with this union three children were born: Hervie L. Daniels, Virginia Daniels- Arku, and Jessie D. Daniels.
He joined First Baptist in Idabel, Oklahoma and served as a trustee for many years. Hervie loved God and was a faithful and devoted church member until his health failed.
Hervie proceed in Death by; His parents, son- Jessie D. Daniels, and wife Nancy Daniels; sisters; Anna Boulders, Ole Rolfe, Janie Young, Hattie Glover, Jessie Turner, Era Mae Daniels, and Vinnie Lee Myrks ; brothers: Otis, Tossie, Jim, Roy, and Henry Daniels.
He leaves to cherish his memory; son Hervie L. Daniels of Absecon, New Jersey and daughter Virginia Daniels- Akru; Brother Carnel Daniels and wife Marion of San Bernardino, California; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A family visitation is set for Friday December 30, 2011 from 5-7 here at the funeral home.
Funeral services are set for 11AM Saturday December 31, 2011 at First Baptist Church Westside with Rev. Burnis, Burrell Officiating.
Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery, Idabel
