Later, Henry received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Food Service at the Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City, Missouri. Upon finishing college, Henry moved back home and became the first African American to manager a fast food chain for Lloyd Garrett who owned the Idabel Sonic Drive-In in 1976.
