Geraldine E. Mcclain

September 13, 1933 — September 1, 2016

Geraldine E. McClain departed this life on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Hill's Nursing Home in Idabel, Oklahoma. She was born September 9, 1933 in Haworth, Oklahoma to Carrie B. Frost and Oliver Daniels. She was the first of four children.

She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Rebecca Baptist Church.  She attended Booker T. Washington High School, graduating in 1952. She was affectionately known by many as "Jewel" and she lived up to that name. A beautiful smile, great sense of humor, as well as a joyous spirit – she possessed all. She was also known to be a great cook at Olive Branch Day Care where she was employed for many years. She also worked as a custodian at Denison School until she retired.

She enjoyed gospel singing and the love of her family, especially the grands and great-grands. She will truly be missed by all!

Preceding her in death were her son, Willie McClain; husband, E. J, McClain; mother, Carrie B. Frost; sisters, Doris Frost and Estelle Burrell, and brother, Westell Frost.

She leaves to cherish her memory four children: Pat (Dave) Clement, E.J. (Anita) McClain, Jr., DeLois McClain, and Debra (Danny) Howell, all of Idabel; brother-in-law, James Burrell of Tulsa, OK, and six grandchildren, Sherri, Yolanda, Dakota, A'miraclle, Patrick, Shatia.  Also, a host of great-grandchildren and other family.
