Franklin Cherry was born February 22, 1947 in the Clear Creek Community near Idabel, Oklahoma.. He passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012 in Idabel.
Franklin attended Broken Bow Public Schools. He worked for the City of Broken Bow, Pilgrim's Pride in Nashville, Arkansas, Weyerhaeuser Sawmill in Wright City, Oklahoma and Tyson Foods in Broken Bow from where he retired when his health began to decline. Franklin loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his mother, Florence Cherry; one son, Gary Joshua Cherry; and two brothers, John Doss and Darryl Cherry.
Franklin leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Pete Cherry of Broken Bow, Paula Cherry of Dallas, Iretha Mitchell and husband Patrick of Broken Bow, Randell Cherry of Broken Bow, Lawanda Coons and husband Boyce of Oklahoma City, Kenji Thomas of Broken Bow, Urena Cherry of Broken Bow, and Damien Mitchel Cherry of Broken Bow; one brother, James Lewis Kelly and wife Vicky of Kansas City; sisters, Patricia Cherry and Jeana Cherry of Idabel, Esther and Ray Baker of Idabel, and Cheryl Cherry of Oklahoma City; one aunt, Doris Whitaker; one uncle Harold Cherry; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral arrangements are set for 2 PM Saturday October 13, 2012 at Macedonia Baptist Church Broken Bow, OK.
Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery Idabel.
