Frances L. Cooper

Frances L. Cooper was born on June 21, 1930 in Winona, Mississippi. She peacefully transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on January 29, 2018 at Memorial Heights Nursing Home in Idabel, Oklahoma.

She attended Booker T. Washington High School. Frances and William C. Cooper were wed in Las Vegas, NV in January of 1977. Upon relocating to Idabel, she and W.C. affiliated with By-Pass Church of Christ in Idabel. She continued to be a dedicated worker in her church until her health declined.  W.C. passed away on May 31, 2017

Frances worked as a supervisor at Little Dixie Agency in Idabel. In her job capacity, she was able to assist many people in Idabel and McCurtain County. She helped some return to school to continue their education. She aided families by helping to locate affordable housing and helped some to find employment. She, in her little burgundy Volkswagen, was a common sight in Idabel as she traveled from one location to another; often transporting clients to job interviews. If it was within her means to help; she did. She retired after 30 years of employment with Little Dixie Agency.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Reginald Evans, Sr. and brother, William Benson.

She is survived by: Son, Eric Evans of Idabel. Stepson, Richard Sutton of Temple, Texas. Grandsons, Reginald Evans Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada and Damon Evans of Los Angeles, California. Eight sisters, Cal Henderson, Sarah Pride, Velma Wilson, Linda Peggs, Berteel Jefferson, Cassandra Autman, Karen Brown and Shauna Doyle. Eight brothers, Hunter Benson, Jr., Warner Benson, Larry Benson, Carl Benson, Toney Benson, Rickey Benson, Tirrell Benson, and Charles Benson.

Also, special friend, Brenda Boyd of Idabel; as well as her cousins and other family members and her friends at By-Pass Church of Christ.

The funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Nunley's Funeral Home Chapel, 3 NW Bois D'Arc, Idabel, Oklahoma. Jerry Falling will officiate.

Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery, Idabel.
