Floyd Lee Haley was born to L. Z. and Lucile Mathis Haley August 14, 1925 in Okmulgee OK. Brother Haley went to be with the lord May 23, 2014 at the McCurtain Memorial Hospital. He was their only child.
He worked on the farm until he went into the Navy during World War II. Floyd was honorably discharged in 1945.
While working construction in Oklahoma City, he met and married his wife Opal. They were married for sixty one plus years. Floyd, his wife and family moved to California where he continued to work in construction. He also worked in the California school system until he retired in 1992.
While living in California, Floyd was a member of the Shield of Faith Church until he moved back to Oklahoma where he united with The Springhill Missionary Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of The Springhill Baptist Church until his health failed.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, L. Z. and Lucile Haley.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Opal of the home; sons Bobby (Sondra) and Ronald (Felecia) all of Tulsa; daughter Kimberly Cook of Fontana CA; seven Grandsons, seven granddaughters, and fourteen Great Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services are set for 11 am Saturday May 31, 2014 at the Springhill Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor A. W. Gulley officiating.
Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by a Navy Honor Team.
