On Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-Hamon ICU in Dallas, Texas the Lord called Ella home from labor to reward. She was born January 15, 1947 to the late
Addie Lee Ernest, and the late Willie Haywood Jones, Sr. in Idabel, OK. At an early age Ella accepted Christ and was baptized by the late Rev. B.J. Jones, Sr. at First Baptist Church Westside. She attend Sunday School, Morning Worship, B.T. U, and was a member of the Junior Choir.
Ella attended Kindergarten classes and graduated at The Olive Branch Baptist Church, Idabel, OK. She attended elementary, junior high and high school at Booker T. Washington, Idabel, OK. Ella furthered her education by attending Beauty and Cosmetology School in Portland Springs, Maine. After graduation she relocated and established several businesses which she owned and operated in Oklahoma City, OK, San Antonio and Desoto, TX. Ella attended Rose State University, OKC (Criminal Law was her major)
Prior to getting sick she decided to further her education at the University of Phoenix. While attending the University of Phoenix the professor told Ella, you are an exceptionally advanced smart student for your age.
Ella was always a very smart student in school, and Mudda made sure of that for all of her children. A lover of people and she was one that would always take on much needed responsibilities of doing and completing numerous tasks. Just to name a few she personally spoke to the mayor of Idabel to get an address along with signs and sections for the Williamston Cemetery. Ella contacted families that have love ones buried in the Williamston Cemetery to upgrade and beautify their graves, these task were aided by Dr. Oscar Battle, Jr and her sister Educator, Mrs. Mary L. Blandon and will continue to be completed in Honor Of Ella.
Ella will truly be missed by everyone that knew her.
Ella was preceded in death by her mother Mrs. Addie Lee Ernest, father Willie Haywood Jones, Sr., Maternal and Paternal Grandparents, Two daughters Precious Lee Williamson and Selajh A. Jones along with two brothers and three sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memory husband Elijah Smith, children Curtis D. Jones (Crystal), Reginald V. Jones (Desiree), Chantayne Peterson, Denell M. Jones Sr., and Juan Williamson.
Grandchildern: Antwaine Anderson, Alandy Townsend, Jasmyne Jones, Denell M. Jones Jr., Tyler L. Jones, Jade Jones, T'Mahjai Scales, Janae Jones, Candyce Jones, J'Marie Ella Ann Williamson, Reginald Jones, Camyille Jones, Jovan John Lee Williamson, Anaya Jones and Sy Jones Great Grandchildren: Mi'Naja L. Bagsby and Maiya J. Jones (to be born in August) Sisters: Mrs. Mary L. Blandon and Wynona A. Wilder, Brother: Cecil W. Tucker Niece: Shanique Wilder Nephews: Derrick S. Williams (Nickie), Deverick S. Wilder, Eric Blandon, Dominique Wilder, Marquette Townsend Jones (Dianne)Special Cousins: Ludie Cole and Joyce K. Cole Special Daughter in Laws: Samantha Robinson and Crystal Callendar Special Friends: Special Friends; Dianne Malloy, Genetta S. Adams, Nora and Johnny Wells
Funeral services are set for 1 pm Saturday June 13, 2015 at the Westside First Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Latson officiating and Minister John L. Williamson Eulogist.
Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery
