Elena "Madea" Parmer 76 of Idabel, OK entered her heavenly home on Jan 11, 2012 at St Michaels Hospital in Texarkana, AR. She was born November 21, 1935 in Idabel OK to John Albert & Ella Thomas.
She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and became a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church. She later reunited with Plainview Baptist Church.
Elena attended high school at Booker T Washington of Idabel OK. She later resided in Dallas, TX for a number of years where she worked in the textile industry. She later returned to Idabel where she retired in the health care profession.
Elena was preceded in death by both of her parents. She was the last of their ten children.
She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters: Sharon & Bobby (husband) Jackson of Los Angeles, CA; Beverly Parmer of Idabel. Three grandchildren: Dedrian & Angela (wife) of Oklahoma City, OK; Shaneca Parmer of Ft Worth, TX and Christopher Jackson of Los Angeles, CA. Two Great Grandchildren: Dedrian Jr and Alyssa Parmer of Oklahoma City, OK and a host of nieces & nephews.
Elena was dearly loved by many and enjoyed gathering with family and friends until her health began to fail and the Lord called her home.
Services are set for 1 PM Saturday 01/21/2012 at First Baptist Church 2 SE Jefferson, Idabel with Pastor John H Scott officiating.
Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery, Idabel.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday 01/20/2012 here at the funeral home.
