Edward Erwin Phillips AKA Eddy Phillips was born June 12, 1957 in Chickasha, Okla. to John and Mary (Bass} Phillips.
Eddy Phillips went to sleep in death on January 6, 2024, at his home in Sobol, Okla.
Eddy married Beverly Jean Norton on August 30, 1980. They were married for 43 years and to this union, 4 children were born.
Eddy had many friends and family that he loved very much. He was known to some as the guy that told you to have a Zip A Dee Doo Da Day!
He also loved to tease the waitresses when ordering a Caesar salad. He would always ask if it was a Julius Caesar or an Augustus Caesar salad? He loved it when he got the response... "I'm not sure. Let me go check"!
Eddy was the kind of person who had a self-sacrificing spirit and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He always had a positive attitude and would give warm loving encouragement to both friends and strangers alike.
He enjoyed construction and tinkering with his hands. He also liked to deer hunt, especially with his hunting buddies, Walter Ogorek and Steve Savage. Fishing, and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
Eddy dedicated his life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on January 28th, 1984, and remained faithful to Jehovah until his death. He especially enjoyed his service to Jehovah in many ways such as expressing his faith and volunteering to work on building or remodeling kingdom halls.
Eddy was preceded in death by his father, John Otis Phillips (2012), son James Brian Phillips (2016), daughter Amanda Jean Phillips Cresta (2023), and Grandmother Mary Morris (2005)
Leaving to cherish his memory are his wife Beverly, son John Edward Phillips (spouse Rachel) of Sobol Ok, daughter Alesha Phillips of Catoosa Ok, daughter-in-law Emily Phillips of Bixby Ok, and stepdaughter Stacy Ogorek of Pineville La. His mother is Mary Phillips of Millerton OK, his brother Joe Phillips (spouse Barbara) of Sobol OK, and sister Tammy Poer (spouse Allen) of Red Oak Tx.
Grandchildren: Austin and Madison Ogorek, Adele and Juniper Phillips, Jase Phillips, Emma Cresta, Claira and Abagale Baker, Kyler McNally also many nieces, nephews, and a congregation family that loved him dearly.
Eddy will be missed dearly by so many.
