Mr. Earl Dean Ramsey Sr
January 26, 1940 — June 21, 2015
Earl Dean Ramsey Sr., (Shack) was born January -26-1940 in Tom Oklahoma to Lee Van Ramsey and Maude Eva Mae, Dillahunt. He passed away in Idabel June 21, 2015 in a friend's home while visiting from Los Angeles CA.
He accepted Christ at an early age, and attended the Pine Ridge and Bright Star Baptist Churches. Earl also attended the Pine Ridge Elementary School in Tom, OK, Riverside school in Harris, and Booker T. Washington in Idabel graduating at the age of 16. He moved back to Tom after high school and did farm work before joining the Army. He served in the US Army from October 16, 1962 until he was honorably discharged October 15, 1968. While in the army his highest rank was PFC E-3, and received recognition for as a Sharpshooter and received the Good Conduct medal. After being discharged from the Army, he moved to L A and operated two or three businesses. Later he became employed with the City of Los Angeles and worked there until he retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sandra Kay, Sisters Betty Joe, Louise Rogers and Helen Simpson, brother L V Ramsey, Uncle Louis Dillahunt, and nephew Ray Simpson.
He leaves to cherish his memory, four sons; Earl Dean Jr. (boo boo)
Devearl Dean, and Jerearl Dean Ramsey all of Los Angeles, and Jerome of Broken Bow; two daughters Valerie and Tyra Ramsey; sister; LaVada Simpson; a granddaughter Shelbra McKenzie, and 4 great grandchildren; devoted friends, James Cooper, Tom OK, Bobby J Butler, Idabel, J R French Atlanta Georgia, and Cornell Butler of San Diego, CA., God Children, Darnell Cardenas and Ebony Haywood and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, relatives, and friends.
Funeral services are set for 11 am Thursday July 2nd, 2015 at the [Community Missionary Baptist Church in Tom, OK with Dr. Vera Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at Della Simpson Cemetery, Tom, OK
