Doris Jean Frost was the eldest child of Jessie Mae Nolen Battle, born March 9, 1941 in Idabel, Oklahoma. She went to sleep in death peacefully on May 11, 2011 at Integris Hospice in Oklahoma City.
She joined Macedonia Baptist Church at an early age and remained a Christian throughout her life.
She was attending school at Booker T. Washington when she met Westell Frost and to this union they had four children; Wayne, Rickey, Phyllis, and Darryl.
Doris was a devoted mother and wife who worked hard to take care of her children. She had various jobs working many years at Hill's Nursing Home. Then she moved to Oklahoma City in the early Eighties to live near her children. In Oklahoma City, she was employed at Eckerd Drugs as a Pharmacist Assistant until she retired in 2003.
She fought a courageous battle against Leukemia. She continued to laugh and smile, never complaining, or feeling sorry for herself. Doris trusted her Savior to give her the strength and peace.
Doris is preceded in death by her mother and father, Oscar and Jessie Mae Battle, Sr. and two brothers, MJ McCullough and Bennie Battle.
To cherish her memory is her husband and 20 year companion Eugene Williams of the home; four children, Wayne Frost and wife Amy of Edmond, Rickey Frost and wife Adrenia of Spencer, Phyllis Smith and husband Glen, and Daryl Frost, both of Midwest City; three brothers, Dr. Oscar Battle, Jr. of Morgan Hill, California, James Battle of Lexington, Kentucky, and Ronnie Battle of Lawton; one sister, Annie Jewell Rose of Guyana, South America; along with a host of grand, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
There will be a family visitation Friday May 20th from 6 - 8 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral services are set for 11 AM May 21, 2011 at First Baptist Church 2 SE Jefferson Idabel with Rev. Charles Evans officiating.
Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery.
