Doris Jean Dixon, also known as Bigmama, was born to the late Charlie and Gladys Green on July 21, 1942, in Tom, Ok on Jones Farm. Doris lived her younger life between Tom and Oklahoma City, Ok. She later established her career as a Dry Tender Operator at Weyerhaeuser Lumber Company in Wright City, Ok. During that time, she also established a loving home for her children. After gracefully giving 35 years of her life to Weyerhaeuser, she retired in 2004 at the age of 62.
Doris's life was centered around serving God. She was an active member of The Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church where you could find her singing in the choir, leading songs with her beautiful voice, helping the Mission Ladies, praying for you, and never hesitating to step up and help when needed. If she couldn't do it, she made sure she found someone to get it done. She loved her church and loved to see when her family came to church with her!
Doris married Mac Arther Dixon on September 28, 2000. These two had a love like no other. The way they smiled and looked at each other was almost like watching young kids in love. They still gave each other butterflies, right along with the rolls of the eye that she would occasionally give him. If you knew Bigmama, you know these looks! She could give some good ones. They loved each other fiercely and it was beautiful to see.
After retiring from Weyerhaeuser, Doris and Mac started a lawn care service. It didn't matter how hot it was they were out there to serve you with a smile and a beautiful yard to match. They enjoyed doing this together. They also loved to fish and support the Lumberjax Basketball Teams. You could often hear them both yelling at the ref "COME ON REFEREE!" They were voted Fans of the Year in 2007 and were so proud!
