Oh God, deliver peace into our hearts and souls during our time of grief and sorrow.

By the grace of God, Donald Ray Bible, the eldest of the three boys, was born to Willie and Clara Bible on January 16, 1952 in Idabel, Oklahoma. He departed this life on Friday, May 25, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Affectionately known as "Ray," he attended Booker T. Washington and graduated from Gray High School in 1970. After graduation, he attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma and Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. He lived the majority of his life in Idabel. He also resided in Sacramento, California and Houston, Texas. He was living in Oklahoma City at the time of his death.

As a youngster growing up in Idabel, Bible developed a love for baseball that began the day he signed up to play for the Red Ellis Red Caps where he played 3 rd base.  Later, he became a staunch New York Yankees fan. He was instrumental in forming the rock band, Purple Dust. He served as the manager for the band.

Bible was most proud of his work as a police officer with the Wright City Police Department in Oklahoma. He worked in that capacity until he was injured. He loved his family and supported them throughout his life.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and daughter, RaeShonda Bible.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Bible of Idabel; partner and companion, Vargus Ann Hooks of Oklahoma City; sons, Donald Jr. and Jared Bible and daughter, Adrianna Bible, all of Oklahoma City. Brothers, Charles Bible and Royce Bible, both of Kingwood, Texas. Aunt, Arvella Burris of Idabel. Also, a host of grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
