Cochie L Shoals

Life’s journey began for Cochie Lee Shoals on July 9, 1957, in Idabel, Oklahoma to the late Cody Shoals and Prince Albert Gibson. Surrounded by loved ones, he made his eternal transition on June 2, 2026.

Starting at an early age, he attended Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church and as an adult became a member.

Cochie attended Booker T. Washington and Idabel Gray High School. He worked for Woods Lumber Yard, Post Plant and as a farm/ranch hand. Cochie loved his family, riding horses/rodeo, farming, gardening, having fun and making people laugh.

Cochie met Lois McClain and to this union Dekota Lamar was born.

Cochie was preceded in death by his parents; Chrest (Chris) Wayne Frost, brother and Lois McClain, significant other.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Dekota Shoals, Idabel, OK; three brothers, Edward Shoals (Pam), Edmond, OK; Bill Shoals (Levada), Idabel, OK; Tim Shoals (Kim), Edmond, OK. Five sisters, Balinda Torres (Isaac), Okla. City, OK; Annette Burdex (Carl), Okla. City, OK; Whitney Shields (Demetrius), Del City, OK; Tomilenette Young (Ricky), Okla. City, OK; Jeana Cherry, Idabel, OK; two aunts, Judy Flemings, University Place, WA; Brenda Shoals, Texarkana, TX; three uncles, Willie Bailey, Tom, OK; Ray Shoals (Vernice), Foreman, AR; Henry Shoals, Texarkana, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

His service is set for 11am June 13, 2026, at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Idabel, Ok 74745.

Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery, Idabel
