Clara Jean Meadows

Clara Jean Meadows was born May 22, 1944 in Tom, Oklahoma to the late Georgia Mae Cooper and Samuel Whitfield. She departed this life on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, OK. Clara didn't fear death for her favorite scripture expressed that; Psalms 23:4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.

At an early age she accepted Christ and was baptized into the New Dora Baptist Church Family. She received her formal education from Pine Ridge School in Harris OK.

As a young adult Clara started her career in the field of electronics. While living in OKC she went back to school and became a CNA and later a licensed Medical Assistant.

Clara's favorite hobbies was cooking, fishing, and socializing. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. Later in life she met and married Robert Meadows and remained faithful until his death.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband Robert, son Cedric Whitfield, four sisters Beverly Wilson, Teresa Simpson, Edna Nero and Tweety Whitfield.

Those celebrating her life and legacy is two daughters: Carolyn Whitfield of Idabel, and Mary Pennon of Dallas, TX. Nine Sisters: Ollie Mae Harris of Hooks, TX, Dollie Bowler (Larry) of Tulsa, OK., Sharon Whitfield, Pocola, OK., Janet Whitfield of Pineville, LA, Paula Gordon, Wanda Whitfield, Terrie Green (Sammy Lee), Yolanda Whitfield and Monica Whitfield of Spiro OK., Four Brothers: Samuel E. Whitfield, Sr. of Midwest City, OK., Dennis Whitfield (Shelia) of Shawnee, OK., Jerry Whitfield (Melanie) of Wagon Mound, NM, William Whitfield (JoAnna), of Spiro, OK., Five Grandsons: Lamont (Stephanie), Wright City, OK., Anthony, Jason (Mary), Murdoc, and Cornelius Whitfield of Idabel, OK., Fourteen Great- Grands and 2 Great-Great Grands. A host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
