Charlesetta Beard

February 2, 1957 — April 21, 2024

Charlesetta Faye Beard was called home on Sunday, April 21, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born February 2, 1957, in Idabel, Oklahoma to the late Carvin Sr. and Mary Beard.

Charlesetta accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Logan at Maple Springs Baptist Church. She rededicated her life to Christ under the leadership of Rev. Jamie Erby at Life Purpose Baptist Church. Charlesetta, known by her family and friends as "C-Baby" was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved talking trash while playing dominoes. She will be missed dearly.

Charlesetta attended Richland School, Booker T. Washington School, and graduated from Gray High School where she was a part of the "Jivin Five" girls track team that won the 1st State Championship in Idabel under Coach Francis King in 1975. In 2023 she was inducted into the track Hall of Fame in Idabel.

Ms. Beard is preceded in death by: her parents; grandparents; one daughter Demetrice Moss; longtime companion James Williams; two brothers, Carvin Jr. and Tommy Sr.; four sisters; Ella Mae, Sarah, Rosie, and Lessie; two sisters-in-law; Vernetta and Ann; one brother-in-law Albert Johnson; one nephew Tommy Jr. "TC" and a special friend Dell Rucker Jr.

Charlesetta leaves to cherish her memories: one son Kacey(Karla) Beard of Idabel; two daughters Toni(Kevin) Rucker of Idabel and Shawanna(Timothy) Dixon of Texarkana, Texas; two brothers; Elfunzo and Douglas Beard of Idabel; one bonus daughter Kimberly Johnson; one sister-in-law Brenda Smith; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; two close friends Charlotte Capers and Regina Rucker of Tulsa; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and her devoted nurse Misti Neal.

Her service is set for 2:00 pm Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at the By-Pass church of Christ with Rev. Jamie Erby officiating.

Interment will follow at Maple Springs Cemetery.
